How To Find True Love

We all want to find true love in our lives.  But how do we know when we have it?  No matter what season of life you’re in you can discover the meaning of true love and how to find it.

Being single is an exciting season of life.  You are the master of your time and you can give as much of it away as you like.  You can build your life in whatever direction you chose, but what you chose to focus your time on now will greatly determine your future life.

You can build your life for your own success or for God’s.  He already has good works prepared for you to do and a spouse of his choosing.  Our goal in the season of waiting is not just to wait for the best looking person to walk into our life but to wait on God’s will.  Are you searching for a date or for a life partner?   If you’re in a season of waiting for your true love I share more here about how to find a life partner.

Dating is a recent trend.  So it’s even more important in our current culture to have even more intention and focus when pursuing ‘the one’ that God has for you. Is your focus on God and His will for your life? Or is it on fulfilling your personal desires?  Living for Christ and His will for your life will bring focus and purpose into your relationship.  Your goal in beginning a relationship should always be marriage, not just a fun time.  Bringing God into the centre of your relationship will bring you together on a whole different level and he’ll begin to envision your life together.

Marriage is a covenant bond with a divine purpose in unity.  It is not to be entered into lightly, and we should never go into marriage with a back up plan.  But it’s also an incredibly wonderful level of relationship that God can use to reveal His love for us. Marriage is a lifelong relationship, so you take the long term approach and enjoy unravelling the mystery of your spouse over time.  It doesn’t have to all become known in the first month of marriage!

Spending your time before marriage focusing on Jesus and learning to love like him and recieving His love gives you the best start to marriage.  It’s only in God that we can know true love.  You can’t give what you don’t have, and the Bible says, “whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.” 1 John  4:8

I think you offer amazing advice. This is advice that so many probably want to go back in time to do. There is power in spending 1-1 time with Jesus. Fabulous words! I cheer your words on from the #RaRalinkup at Purposeful Faith.
